About Clean a Mattress
Clean a Mattress is an independent informational website. It is owned and edited by one publisher. It is not a cleaning company, mattress brand, medical clinic, pest-control service, or product store.
The site exists to help a reader decide the next safe step for a specific mattress problem: urine, stains, memory foam, covers, odor, mold concerns, and bed bug concerns. A useful page should say what to do first, what not to do, how to dry the mattress, and when a home fix is the wrong answer.
Who writes and reviews the guides?
The byline Clean a Mattress Editorial Team is the site owner’s editorial name. It is not a claim that a named clinician, pest-control technician, mold remediator, or mattress manufacturer inspected your bed. Pages are written and reviewed by the publisher against public safety sources, cleaner labels, and manufacturer care rules that are linked on the sources page.
What work sits behind a page?
- Compare the reader’s task with the mattress type: foam, cover, topper, protector, or a branded model with a published care rule.
- Keep one cleaner path and reject chemical mixing, soaking, and “stronger is better” recipes.
- Use EPA mold size/moisture guidance, EPA label-first disinfectant rules, CDC bed bug background, and Poison Control mixing warnings as stop rules, not as decoration.
- Check brand-specific pages against the manufacturer’s published wash or spot-clean instructions when those instructions exist.
- Refuse fake lab claims. The site does not say a mattress was sanitized, warranty-approved, or independently lab-tested unless a specific public source supports that limit.
What the site is not
This site does not diagnose health symptoms, certify that a contaminated mattress is safe to sleep on, sell cleaners, or speak for Tempur-Pedic, Purple, Sleep Number, or any other brand. Brand pages exist only to apply that brand’s published care limits to a home-cleaning decision. When replacement, professional cleaning, pest control, or mold remediation is safer, the guide says so.
